Gun Crazies Abetted by Law and Policy
Trump often makes no sense, but gun policies are always nuts
Must we accept the repeated mass murders perpetrated by racist fanatics? Do we have to adjust to armed wing nuts attacking innocent Americans?
Listen to a Republican after a mass shooting, if you can find one anywhere near a camera or microphone. They give laughably stupid non-answers, mere deflections to defend the indefensible. Only to members of the Wacko-American community does it make sense that a nation awash in firearms needs even more of them so the “good guys” can shoot the “bad guys.” To the rest of us this is wrong, stupid and insane. Look around the world and you will see where there are fewer guns there are fewer murders. Australia, for example, got serious about gun regulation after its own mass shooting. What was once a ~$140 weapon now costs ~$14,000 on the black market, putting it out of the reach of the “bad guys.”
Conservative Members of Congress wear AR-15 pins to show they support the perpetrators of violence and not the victims. In all of its craven stupidity the Republican conference in the House shows itself to be morally bankrupt on this, willing to keep burying innocent victims so as not to disturb the gun nuts and their financial contributions.
And still in this country we pay the price of mollifying the gun nuts by accepting acts of mass murder as regular and routine, like rush hour traffic. We are told that mass killings with automatic weapons and elevated rates of suicide are normal and inevitable. They are neither.
